I was somewhat disappointed by this book. It was a good story and I really like the author's style and I've read most of her books. However, with this book I kept waiting for something big to happen, for the Plot to reach some climax and then have a bit of resolution but instead it just ended in the middle of nothing happening. I felt cheated. This is only the first part of a series and it is not a stand alone book. I don't mind series but I feel like you should at least get one complete story even if small, if you purchase a book. It has potential but I'm not sure I learned enough about the characters or care enough about the characters to purchase the next book.I adore her Captive Heart book and the Saving Grace series.
This is book one in a series. I will be preordering this as soon as available. Absolutely loved everything about this story. I'm fact, I read straight thru to the end. The characters were endearing and believable. I loved the storyline and how the author unfolded each new piece of the mystery. I appreciate that this author writes quickly and I won't have to wait too long for more. Thank you for one of the best storylines i have read in a long time. Not just a new version of a story already told. This is refreshing and new!
December 5, 2017 – Started ReadingReview This book was amazing. I didn't want to put it down. This book takes place in Scotland and has quite a bit of political intrigue. The politics were the division between clans and the failed rebellion. I loved getting to know more about the clan dynamics.The characters are fantastic. Their past is revealed as flashbacks, it was a great way to get to know of their history. I couldn't give this book a higher recommendation.It is clean with a little bit of violence, chaste kissing, and a non-graphic rape attempt.
This book is amazing from beginning. I found the characters to be fascinating and believable. The plot was so well developed. This book kept me on my toes the entire read. I also didn't get much done around the house. I loved the way it was written in that the early years kept coming up through the book. Now I have just started book 2 and book 3 is on the shelf. I can't wait to see how book two goes, I know it will also be amazing.Thank you Michele for being the great writer that you are and sharing you stories with all of us.Marilyn
Wanted to give a 5 star but it left me hanging. I had no idea this was the first in a series, I had to look at the review to find out. I loved the story. I loved the individual growth of the characters but most of all, their love for one another. This is a great read! Please hurry and publish the next so I can give it a 5
I enjoyed this story! I am reading it again to refresh my memory for the final book in the series. I love how the mystery unfolds throughout with anticipation for more revelations to come in the second book. I love the flashbacks in each chapter that adds to the characters’ development, Katie’s visions, and the intrigue that kept me reading to the end.
Oh how I enjoyed this story!I enjoyed the slow growing love that seemed to come to Katie and Collin!It was like a historical romantic suspense! You just don't know who to trust and what will happen next! There are so many twists and turns, I got whiplash! I loved it!Sadly, I have to wait for the next book to see how they will be able to help both their clans and avoid being on everyone's target list!
Even though I paid for this, I will not be finishing it. There is no way on earth that I would be stupid enough to put a 14 year old boy in charge of a 4 year old female!That he had feelings for her all the years until she was old enough to marry, was totally unbelievable, just icky, and too much like pedophilia IMO!
