This is a very cute Mad Lib book, but it's too simplistic for my Mad Lib loving 1st grader. It's a much larger size - that of a regular size coloring book - and doesn't use the standard Mad Lib formula. Instead of filling in the blanks with nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs, there are sets of shaped stickers with pictures on them for each page. It would be perfect for pre-schoolers aged 3-5. However, for someone who is learning how to spice up a story with adjectives or learning the difference between a verb and an adverb, this will not help. This is great for younger ones, but for school-age children go for the standard Easter Eggstravaganza Mad Libs which unfortunately I did not see before purchasing this one ;)
There are certain spots in this mad libs where there is no choice but to put a certain sticker there. My 4 year old was instantly disappointed--perhaps only because she knew about traditional mad libs from her older sister. Maybe another 4 year old would love it?The next level up, fyi, is super fun for my 5/6 year old! She cracks herself up.
enjoyable but I read the description wrong and was looking for one for older kiddos. They all made it work though.
Geared towards younger kids ego don't know the difference between a noun/verb etc. This mad libs book provides stickers that can be matched by shape to each blank in the story. I love the fact that my 4 year old daughter can do these by herself. What a great idea!
Definitely for very small kids. Not the typical Mad Libs that you'd expect.
Great, but was way too basic for my second grader. I’d say this is geared toward pre-K to first grade children.
We enjoyed this book a lot. The stickers make it a bit of a challenge for little ones, but there will be extra stickers and we all know that is like gold. Good to play one a day to make it last longer, but we finished it in one sitting on Easter. He laughed a lot and so did I at the silly stories.
We just loved Mad Libs as I was growing up and am so pleased to see that they are still around. Can't wait to play this with the kids.
