This is an amazing new series from Bella Forrest. (Even after four books, I think of it as "new" because of Forrest's tendency to write 30 or so books in a series.) It's a spin-off of The Gender Game series, which I absolutely loved.This writer, while seemingly not being able to end anything, has an incredible imagination, and knows how to write. I finally just got bored to death with the on-going and on-going "Shade" series, and stopped reading it. I'm glad she branched out, because these two new ones are very, very good.The two series, The Gender Game, and The Girl Who Dared . . . ", are dystopian stories of two separate communities, each unaware that the other exists. Both are unique, and Forrest supplies abundant detail about how they operate. This is something that sets a well written story apart from all the dreck that is out there. World building is important in imaginary societies, and Forrest is talented at that.The Gender Game and the Girl Who Dared books intersect at a critical point in The Gender Game, and we are introduced to this new community. It was fairly obvious that Forrest would spin this off, because it was just too good an idea to leave alone.She did a brilliant job. Five stars. Read it. It actually ends.
5 STARS goes without saying really. If it's written by Bella then of course it's a 5 star rating! I seriously couldn't put my kindle down. From start to finish Liana had her hooks into my head. Oh and that steamy make out session gave me instant hope Gray was back into consciousness.The ending was a huge suspension, nail biting, edge of my seat, couldn't blink or chance missing a moment cliff hanger that is totally in Bella fashion!January is my new favorite month that I can't wait for. I'll be waiting very impatiently for the next installment. Ugh!!!!
Let me start with the fact that I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have read by Bella Forrest, however, this book was a little painful for me. It was very repetitive in regards to reiterating the background story. I felt like the first half of the book I was rereading the previous books, so where with her other books I've struggled to put down, this one I struggled to finish. I still ended wanting to know more of the story, and will purchase the next book(s) but was slightly disappointed this time around.
This continuation of the series is intriguing. The whole series is based on the idea that earth has been devastated and the only inhabitants that survived are now living in the Tower. The tower is run by a computer which is failing. Some of the inhabitants are trying to leave while others are trying to corrupt the computer. With all the current protests about earth as it is now and all the people complaining the we are killing earth, this series gives a thoughtful insight into what earth could become.
Interesting and engaging series for the most part. Very boring and mostly pointless and confusing end 'battle' for becoming Ambrose's replacement. What has happened to editors? This should be maybe a three or four book series, too drawn out for my taste or to keep my interest. Go on? Maybe. Reading the Gender series as well, good premise as well, but 7 books worth? I think not.
I happened upon Bella Forrest a few months ago browsing Amazon, and I'm seriously glad I did! I itch to buy each of the The Girl Who Dared books as I finish the previous one. I have enjoyed every single book of this series, and have brought a couple of the Gender Game to tide me over when the release of the newest of this series hasn't happened yet. I enjoy the internal struggle of the main character, and the way in which she manages to lead, despite lacking in confidence in her ability to do so. Loyal, and never giving up. Awesome series, and now I'm off to purchase the next one! Keep it up!
I am flying through these books as Liana flies through the air. I read the first GENDER GAME and it was good but did not grab me as this series has. I can’t get anything done because The Tower calls. Again. Thank goodness I’m not waiting for the next book to be published; I would lose my mind. Binge reading!
I am not good at visualization and do not like battle scenes. I know the Tournament was important, but for me I do not think it needed it's own book. I skimmed over a larger part of it. So far this is my least favorite. I like the story and plan to read the next one, but hope it is a bit different.
