I bought this book in order to help my lesson here at home about owls. Our children had a lot of questions because we have a Screech Owl who lives in our yard and they wanted to know all about it. That branched off into owl facts. This is a great book which our older child could read independently and the younger children were able to listen to and glean information from. Full of information but written in such a way that it is interesting to a young one. Our youngest is 7. Gail Gibbons is an amazing author and having used many of the books she authored in my classrooms over the years, I knew this was going to be a good addition to our home lesson. It was!

Gail Gibbons is a fantastic children's non-fiction writer. The text and pictures are so appropriate and kids love being able to learn factual information from the books she writes. I have collected a lot of her books for my classroom.

I love Gail Gibbons' informational books. My students, as well as my own children, learn many facts in an interesting way when we read these books together!

Of course I had to read the book before I gave it to my grandson and found it to be full of good information written in an interesting and informative way. Especially liked the identification of the different types of owls and the illustrations . Good for children and grown ups too.

The book is suitable for a wide age range. It suited my classroom study perfectly.

This lovely book was a good gift for our 5-year-old granddaghter.who likes to be read to. - We also gave her the Hoot Owl cooperative board game from Peaceable Kingdom.-- sort of a themed present. Little brother almost 3 likes to get in on both.

We have several of Gail Gibbons books and I've never been disappointed by any of them. She does such a nice job of including lots of facts about the subject and still makes it fun and interesting for kids. We use her books a lot for our homeschool studies.

Great nonfiction book; I used in my classroom as an anchor text to teach informative writing.
