The negative reviewer's comment must be about "law school in general" because there is no B.S. in this book. To the contrary, it provided very helpful guidance while writing a brief for my 1L LRW class.Moreover, I've been told by practicing appellate attorneys that they still find it to be a great reference and keep a copy on their shelf.Bottom line: if you're writing a brief, this book does a fantastic job of showing you the way and covering all bases.

The long-time text for writing appellate brief. I didn't use it too much but it does have a lot of helpful information.It is too expensive, however. Also, this book hasn't changed in decades so if you can find a cheaper used version I would get that instead.
There are no "page numbers." Instead, the book only gives you the "location." No big deal? Think again if your professor assigns readings via page numbers. Good luck figuring out if page number 36 corresponds to location 2034 of 9065.
This book is excellently written, gives very useful examples and tips into appellate writing. Great for any legal writing class. The book came in great condition.
I thought this book was not particularly helpful.It had about 20 pages of useful rhetoric advice and actual helpful information.If not required, I would skip.
I refuse to give any book I have to buy for law school 5 stars. It has all the information you need.
